2007 Homecoming
"Over 80 years of tradition & Bison Spirit"
September 28 & 29, 2007

Three scheduled events for Friday and Saturday!
Homecoming Game Pep-Rally including THE BISON SPEAKS

Sunset treated us like V.I.P.  They reserved several rows of seating for us in the front of the auditorium behind the football team. We quickly had that filled, so they seated the rest of the alumni on the first row to the left of the stage.  It was agreed that there aren't words to explain what we experienced when the students asked all the alumni to get on the stage with them, the football team and cheerleaders.  They asked us to announce our name and class year.  The seniors of '08 rattled the windows with cheers when they heard ex Sunset football player Mike Conway call out his class of 1968.  The auditoruim was then filled with the chant " '68  '08, '68  '08..."  Then we all locked our fingers as we sang our Alma Mater. Bo Bison did not speak, but the Spirit of Sunset remains in tact after decades.

Homecoming Game vs Seagoville High School

We then spent the next few hours in the hospitality of Laura Schuller Dorenbecker ' 85 and her husband. They had a great spread of burgers and dogs for us.  We spent a couple of hours visiting with Alumni from '68 to '88. Thanks Laura so much for your hospitality and support of Sunset Alumni, and also thank your neighbors for their tolerance of our group party in your cul-de-sac.

We then caravanned to Sprague Field to meet up with other alumni who traveled in from as far as Houston.  This was the largest turnout of alumni in the last five years representing classes from as far back as 1961.  Unfortunately, our Bison football team was out scored by Seagoville, but the Bison Pride and School spirit that we all experienced REMAINS in tact.
